Price comparison · August 2026

What appointment reminder texts actually cost

Every price below was read off the vendor's own pricing page on 11 August 2026.

Booking software is sold by the month, and the reminder is often billed on top of that. I went through the pricing pages of the tools a one-person salon actually ends up choosing between, copied the numbers down, and worked out what a year costs.

I am not a neutral party and I'd rather say so first: Reeminder is my app and it is in the table too. Which is exactly why there is no figure here I made up — every one links to the page I read it on, with the date I read it. Prices change. If you find something out of date, email me and I'll fix it.

The pricing pages, side by side

Each row is the cheapest plan that can actually send an SMS reminder — not the cheapest plan overall. Figures are in whatever currency the vendor publishes them in; I have not converted anything, because an exchange rate I picked would be a number I made up.

A year, at each vendor's own list price

One person, one calendar, twelve months, monthly billing where it is offered — because annual billing means paying the whole year up front. Each total is in the currency the vendor quotes, and taxes are excluded wherever the vendor excludes them.

Where a per-message price isn't published, the total below is the subscription only. That makes several of these look cheaper than they will be, and I would rather understate a competitor than invent a number for it.

ProductYear one
Setmore Pro (annual)12 × $5 per user, SMS reminders included under fair use. The cheapest full booking system here, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.$60
SuperSaaS Basic12 × $9 / €7. Text costs not published.$108 / €84
Acuity Standard (annual)12 × $27, texts included. Billed monthly, it is $408.$324
Booksy12 × $29.99. Reminders cost nothing extra — the honest headline here is the subscription, not the texts.$359.88 + tax
Square Appointments Plus12 × $49 per location. Square's free tier is $0 if you can live within it.$588
Fresha Independent12 × CZK 282.95 ex tax, then CZK 2.25 per text past 20 a month — 600 reminders a year would add CZK 810.CZK 3,395 + texts
ReeminderOnce. Plus your own texts on your own tariff, exactly like writing to anyone else.€15

Year two resets every subscription in that list to its full price. Reeminder's year two costs €0 — the €15 was paid last year.

Why the reminder is billed at all

None of these companies pays for your text out of its own pocket — it buys the message from an SMS gateway and resells it to you. That is why the reminder costs extra even after you're paying for the plan, and why the tools that do include it cap it with a fair-use clause.

Reeminder isn't in that chain. The message leaves your phone, on your SIM, through your own mobile operator — which is why no per-message fee ever comes from us. The texts aren't free, though: your carrier bills them on the tariff you already have, and most tariffs today include texts. That is the whole trick.

Where they are better

Every other product on this page is a full booking system. Clients book themselves from your website or your Instagram, see your free slots, leave a deposit; the software handles multiple staff, reports and card payments. Reeminder does none of that and never will — it is an appointment book that writes texts. If you need online booking, buy a booking system and ignore this page.

Booksy and Fresha add a marketplace on top: strangers find you there. A €15 app on your phone will never bring you a customer, however good it is.

Booksy includes appointment reminders at no extra cost, and Setmore and Acuity fold texts into the plan. If reminders are all you count, those are honest deals — they are just deals you keep renting. Square and Setmore also have real free tiers.

And the reverse is worth saying plainly: Reeminder will not replace a booking system. What it does replace is a monthly bill for the one job most solo salons actually needed doing.

What €15 buys

Reeminder is an appointment book on your phone. You add a booking. The app writes the reminder text in your words and watches the clock. Your clients stay on your phone — no account, no sign-up, no cloud.

How the text goes out depends on the version, and I'm not going to blur this. The Android build downloaded straight from this site sends by itself, even with the phone in your bag. On iPhone — and in the Google Play version — the app writes and queues the message, gives you a morning list of what's due, and you tap send. Apple doesn't allow anything else, and telling you otherwise would be a lie.

A free 14-day trial, then €15 once. Same price on Android and iPhone, never twice and never monthly.
